The college was established in 2009 in order to foster the vision of Swami Dhananjoy Das Kathiababa, the holy man after whom the college is named. Swami Dhananjoy Das Kathiababa had always championed the right to education. Swami Dhananjoy Das Kathiababa had spoken to his disciples of the need for the spread of higher education, especially among rural women. The establishment of our college brought a fresh ray of hope for the local students, especially girls, who now had an institution of higher education right in their area. The college mainly caters to the local population, who are mostly SCs, STs and OBCs, and the students are largely first-generation learners.
